Where to start eTransforming?
The majority of organisations with specific eTransformation initiatives should firstly solve the selection problem. From all of the candidate processes to be eTransformed, which should be first? The key to choosing correctly lies in having systems which enable the measurement of the effectiveness of the eTransformation and which maximise its performance.
A formal and thorough selection process will enable us to determine with which process it is most appropriate to initiate the eTransformation project, taking into account that there are problems in all cases and elements that are common to different processes.
For each of the candidate processes, this method should also contemplate parameters which are decisive in calculating the ideal degree for eTransformation.
Among these parameters concepts such as the following should be included
- The average time of the execution of the process
- The costs of the physical process
- The dispersion
- The degree of manual operating
- Traceability needs
- or the guarantees demanded
Netfocus has a method (netfocus eTransformation Method, or NEM) which covers the selection of the process to be eTransformed and analyses and describes in detail the intermediate phases of the eTransformation project until a design of the deployment and implementation plan of the solution is reached.
