Netfocus is to pave the way for the digital signature of the electronic edition of the Official Journal of the Catalan regional government

- The project has been assigned to ITSCAT and will be entirely undertaken by netfocus
The Autonomous Official Journal and Publications Body (EADOP) of the Catalan regional government has awarded ITSCAT, a temporary business consortium of which netfocus is part, a project geared to the development of a solution that will make it possible to digitally sign files containing the text of the Official Journal of the Catalan regional government in electronic format, which the EADOP issues on a daily basis.
The project, which is to be undertaken by netfocus, will provide the EADOP with a system capable of electronically signing an approximate volume of 500 PDF files per work session. The functionalities of the Identification Service and Electronic Signature Platform (PSIS) of the Catalan Certification Agency (CATCert) will be used for the purpose of the process in question. The services offered by the PSIS, also developed by netfocus, include the generation of digital signatures for the applications of the Catalan civil service.
CATCert application certificates (ACs) are to be used for placing signatures on digital files, a procedure that the project also envisages it being possible to carry out locally by way of an additional security measure in the event of an unexpected disconnection from the PSIS.
The project in which netfocus is set to engage will also give the EADOP the key infrastructure it needs in order for it to be able to extend the process of signing documents to other types of official publications, if it so wishes.
